What to expect

Your first appointment.

01

Family-paced first visit

Initial appointments are 45-60 minutes. We meet your child at their pace, on the floor with babies, through play with toddlers, and with respect for autonomy with teens.

02

Parent involved, not sidelined

You know your child best. We share what we're observing, why it matters, and how to incorporate the work into the rhythm of your day, not as another homework chore.

03

Coordinated care

When other specialists are involved (paediatrician, OT, speech, GP) we'll happily liaise (with your consent) so everyone's working towards the same goals.

Brianna Bourne

Currimundi · Sandstone Point

Brianna, originally from the Sunshine Coast, discovered her interest in physiotherapy through her lifelong involvement in sport and fitness. Having grown up playing a wide range of sports including touch, netball, rugby and volleyball, she inevitably experienced injury herself and was supported through rehabilitation by a physiotherapist. This experience highlighted the profound impact physiotherapy can have on a person's wellbeing and inspired her to pursue the profession.

Brianna completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the Australian Catholic University, undertaking clinical placements across Neurorehabilitation, Women's Health, Cardiorespiratory, Musculoskeletal Injuries and Surgical Rehabilitation. These experiences strengthened her commitment to supporting individuals through their recovery and helping them return to the activities that bring them joy. During her studies, she also worked as a sports trainer, gaining valuable insight into complex musculoskeletal conditions and developing a passion for guiding young athletes through their rehabilitation journeys.

With a particular interest in Women's Health Physiotherapy, Brianna has completed additional qualifications in this specialty. She is dedicated to empowering women through all stages of life, providing evidence-based, compassionate care tailored to each person's needs.

Outside of work, Brianna enjoys spending time with her dog, getting to the beach whenever she can, and participating in social sports. Her drive for self-improvement and her personal experiences shape her commitment to delivering high-quality care and helping every patient achieve their goals and live their healthiest, happiest life.

FAQs

Common questions.

Are you a registered NDIS provider?

+

Forward Health is not a registered NDIS provider, but we welcome plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants. If you're agency-managed (NDIA-managed), you'll need to see a registered provider. We can recommend one if helpful.

Can I claim through my health fund?

+

Yes, paediatric physiotherapy is claimable under physio cover with every major fund. We're HCF preferred provider and Medibank preferred provider for physio.

My GP wants my baby to see a physio for their flat head, what do I bring?

+

Just yourself, your bub, and any GP notes if you have them. We'll assess plagiocephaly type and severity, check for torticollis, and give you specific positioning and tummy-time strategies.

Can older kids come on their own?

+

From around age 14, sure, though we recommend a parent attend the first appointment. For younger kids, a parent or guardian needs to be present throughout.

Do you write reports for school or NDIS?

+

Yes. Reports take time, so we charge separately for them. We'll discuss what's needed and provide a quote before starting.
